Yoga

Lois became interested in yoga while travelling in India and Tibet. She started practising Ashtanga when she returned to London in 1996, with Liz Lark and Mark Ansari. She then went to Crete to study with Derek Ireland, who first brought Ashtanga to Europe, and to develop her own practice. She came to rely on this to resolve the stresses, mental and physical, of having young children.

Lois trained as an Ashtanga teacher in 2008 with Brian Cooper of Union Yoga and Nawa Jyoti, and is a Yoga Alliance 200hr RYT. She also practises with Hamish Hendry at Ashtanga London and has been out to Mysore, where Pattabhi Jois invented Ashtanga, to deepen her experience of traditional Mysore style as it is practised in India.

She is now diversifying her practice, in particular to treat a life-long hip problem, and wants to try as many types of yoga as possible.
